The Cry of the Oppressed

Sep 11, 2022    Steve Dozeman

Our story begins with a Pharaoh who failed to remember Joseph and all he had done for Egypt. Forgetting the past led to irrational fear, and irrational fear led to horrific treatment of Joseph's descendants. And so, for generations, God’s chosen people became slaves to the empire. But their misery did not go unnoticed by God. God heard the cry of the oppressed and intervened through His chosen servant, Moses. The opening to this timeless story is the story of every human, whether known or not. We are all born into slavery, we all fall into bondage and our hearts cry out for freedom. And when we cry out, God hears.
