Jesus > Angels

Having established that Jesus is the greater than any prophet, high priest or king, the author of Hebrews goes on to establish Jesus’ supremacy over the angels. False teachers in the early church taught that God could only be approached through angels. Some thought of Jesus as the ‘highest angel of God,’ but Hebrews reminds us that Jesus is not a superior angel - He is God. There should be no intermediaries or authorities greater than Christ. He alone deserves our worship!
