Imitate

Values and their corresponding behaviours are more caught than taught. Imitation is one of the most powerful ways our hearts and desires are shaped. We learn to be virtuous by imitating other Christ-like people around us and those who have gone before us. When we embody their values and behaviours we are learning how and what to love. This is why Paul boldly instructs others to follow Him as He follows after Christ. The Christian life is not a life of novelty, but of imitation - imitating the One who walked this earth 2,000 years ago and the multitudes of others who have followed suit.
