Lament of Rejection

Jesus grew up in Nazareth. He was their hometown hero - a local religious celebrity. Everyone spoke well of him and was amazed at his teaching. But, in a moment, they turned on him and tried to kill him. These were not strangers, but friends. These were not unfamiliar faces, but family and loved ones. Jesus knew rejection. Jesus experienced back-stabbing. When we are tempted to think that no one knows or understands what it's like to be rejected, Jesus does and He joins us in our grief.
