Lament for a Friend

In one of the most touching gospel stories, Jesus is filled with sorrow at the death of his friend. Jesus knows that this is not yet the end of Lazarus’ earthly journey; but, what moved Jesus was the grief and sorrow of others. Jesus weeps, because of the pain and suffering of His friends. Jesus still weeps at the pain and sorrow of His friends. We follow a Saviour who does not remain aloof and far off, but joins us in our suffering.
