The Quest for Greatness

It was not the building of a great city that doomed these ancient people of Babylon - that was part of God’s cultural mandate. And it wasn't even the tower reaching for the heavens - that was a God-created, spiritual longing. It was the fact that they wanted “to make a name” for themselves. They wanted to be great. They wanted to be their own gods. When we don’t know our true name and our true identity our self-glorification journey will come to a tragic end. But God is gracious. God comes down. God provides a way.
