Setting the Stage for the Final Sacrifice

After God shows himself to be the one true God at Mt. Carmel, the Israelites leave their old ways of worshipping pagan gods...for a time. And so, God allows His people to be taken into exile by the powerful Babylonians, under whose rule they live for seventy long years. But God is still at work, bringing His people back and ultimately setting the stage for the final sacrifice.
