Broken

Jesus begins his famous Sermon on the Mount by saying, "Blessed are the poor in spirit" - but what exactly does this mean? The poor in spirit are those who are painfully aware of their own brokenness and need. It's only when we come to the end of ourselves and our insufficiency that we come to rely upon the power of God and the fullness of His grace. When we walk through life in an ongoing state of dependency, we open up the doors to receive the blessings of God’s Kingdom.
