In an age of online identity and self-promotion we have become constructors of identity. Unlike old schools of thought which see identity as a destination and measure of character alignment, new schools suggest that “there is no ‘true’ self to find.” In our tiresome quest to find and efforts to build an identity (online/public image) for ourselves, God says: you are my child. Identity in God/in Christ not only sticks, it is complete, full... whole -while remaining wonderfully unique. There is a “self” to be found, and once found, it changes everything.
