How are we shaped and formed? Information forms our thoughts. Education broadens our perspectives. But we are learning just how vital the embodied presence of another human being is in our formation. Relationships are essential, not only for helping our minds learn, but for shaping our hearts and lives. The writer of Hebrews addressed and warned Christians who were drifting from the gathered community—the place where they were spurred on to faithful Christian living, where they found purpose and encouragement for the journey. Our increasingly online, disembodied world makes this challenge more timely than ever.
