The Branch One

Israel and humanity alike often resemble that of a stump: a hopeless, lifeless marker of what once was but is no more. Jesus' coming is described as a shoot that springs forth from a stump. Not only does it point to the coming peaceable Kingdom that will rally together all nations, it acts as a marker of God redeeming His people, bringing life to what was once dead.
