Jesus Looked Up

Maybe you remember singing about Zacchaeus as a child—that "wee little man" who climbed up a tree to catch a glimpse of Jesus. Zacchaeus was a Jewish tax collector—a traitor who sided with the Roman occupiers and stole from his fellow citizens to line his own pockets. And yet, Jesus, knowing who Zacchaeus was at his deepest core stopped, called him by name and invited himself over to Zacchaeus' house—bringing him honour and transformation. Zacchaeus demonstrates that you are never too far up any tree for Jesus to look up and find you. You are not too lost for the one who came to seek and to save. And whatever the crowd outside says, there is a seat at this table with your name on it.
