When I Don't Know What to Pray...
Jun 7, 2026 • William Jones
Groaning is one of the defining sounds of life in a fallen world; it's what happens when we know things are not the way they are supposed to be. It is both the language of weakness and the language of longing. But even in those places of deep despair and hopelessness—when we don't know what to say or how to pray, when all we can do is groan—the Holy Spirit is present and interceding—giving meaning to our groans. This groaning is not aimless or hopeless, in fact we groan because we do have hope and an anticipation of the full restoration of all things that is to come.
