The Scriptures proclaim over and over again how high above, how powerful and how almighty God is. That sovereign perspective is inherently different than our own. Individually and collectively we have often wanted to claim his seat, but it doesn't work out so well. Far from a crutch for the weak, belief in an all powerful and perfectly good Divine-being provides profound perspective; it gives us meaning and purpose. It frees us from the need to be a god ourselves. We have someone whom we can trust, someone who is infinite in his wisdom and love and power.
