Heartbreak

Every Shabbat children were and are blessed in Jewish families—a blessing pronounced by parents. When Jesus, a popular teacher to say the least, blesses children, it's a profound indicator of their worth and value, not just in the home, but in the community at large. Jesus loves children! His heart breaks when the least of these are unloved and harmed. Today we allow God’s Spirit to break our hearts for children—children exploited in some of the most inhumane ways imaginable. We will hear from the prophets who instruct us to mourn for the evil that exists in our world; but we will conclude with the powerful truth that God’s justice and righteousness are still advancing and those who align themselves with Him will prevail.
