The Heart of the Matter

In Paul’s letter to his disciple Timothy he specifically tells Timothy to address those who are rich. And while it's easy for us to glaze over these passages assuming that Paul is talking about the Warren Buffets and Jeff Bezos of the world, Paul is in fact speaking to us. In today's global economy, WE are rich. It may not seem that way when we get caught in a trap of comparison, but money has a way of doing that - luring us into an unending need for more. It's dangerous to be rich, because money wants our trust, money wants our hope, money wants our hearts. But at the centre of a beautiful and faithful life is a heart that trusts God, not money.
