Trading Sorrow for Joy

Dec 5, 2021    Steve Dozeman

The book of Isaiah is filled with prophetic punishment and divine comfort, sorrow and joy, destruction and hope. It poetically spans events of the past, present and future. The prophet predicts the day when exile will come and end; when God’s people will be restored and rejoicing shall be their inheritance. It is a specific historical promise and forever spiritual hope. And while situated in the bigness of God’s covenant, it enters upon a child, a new King of David, a true and forever Messiah.
