What does it mean to be human? Hebrews 2 invites us to see Jesus not only as human, but as the True Human. Jesus reveals what humanity was made for and makes it possible for us to recover our true identity as humanity made by God and for God. Jesus is greater than humanity, and yet he also shows us what it means to be truly human and to rule as God intended. What makes Jesus greater is also what makes it possible for us to become fully human and to rule according to God’s design—in a way that stands in contrast to the dominions and powers of our age.
